Honestly this place was so much better than I expected! I was always curious to try it and finally did this last weekend. I made a reservation a few weeks before. By the time I left, the restaurant was full! Service was very good and attentive. The food came out insanely fast. We ordered the roast crab, garlic noodles, and Thanh Long fish (which also came with garlic noodles). This was the perfect amount of food for two people. I know I know, everyone complains about the $80 crab being too expensive. But the crab is cooked perfectly and it's a hefty piece of crab - loaded with meat. The pictures of the garlic noodles don't really do it justice, it tasted a lot better than it looks. The fish was also well cooked. Parking in this area is tough!! It took me a good 15 minutes. Interior of the restaurant is very old school - classic 90s restaurant. Overall I finally understand why this restaurant is a SF classic institution. I would recommend!

Was worried this place would be overhyped but it lived up to all the great reviews! We celebrated a birthday with a deliciously refreshing mango salad, garlic noodles and peppery crab. It's a bit hard to crack the crab and not the most elegant thing to eat in public but SO worth it.

The Customer Service was speedy & Amazing. The food was delicious. There was lots of laughter and a great vibe. I was in great company, and had a great meal! Upon this visit we didn't get crab, as we were full after trying lots of appetizers, the garlic noodles, and drinks! Crab to follow this upcoming week. No stranger to Crustacean, the sister chain...we know it's GOOD music to our mouths, and a perfect pre-game to enjoy a beautiful sunset at Ocean Beach.

10/10!!! So amazing, worth all the hype. Came on a Sunday late afternoon for early Dinner. The garlic noodles lived up to the hype, and so did the Dungeness crab. Will be coming back the next time I'm in town.

As a Houstonian, this restaurant was a MUST during my visit to California. I wanted to give this restaurant a try after hearing that it was the birth place of San Franciscan Garlic Noodles. The crab turned out to be everything I could've wanted and more. The establishment may have a vintage exterior, but don't let it fool you, it is modern and new on the inside. The staff is friendly, and the food comes out impressively fast. For a party of five, we ordered the Roast Crab, Drunken Crab, Tiger Pawn over Garlic Noodles, Spicy Eggplant, and Seafood Dumplings. Long story short: stick to the crab and the garlic noodles. The crabs were to die for - perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delectable. Not to mention they were humongous. You know the food is good when a silence falls over the table, and this is exactly what happened when the crab came out. And not to be dramatic or anything but the garlic noodles are probably the best I've ever had in my life. They were packed with flavor and paired beautifully with the crab. Make sure you come hungry because it is a bit of a heavy meal. Unfortunately the other dishes at the restaurant were not as good. The seafood dumplings had a single shrimp inside and the Spicy Eggplant was not spicy... it was sweet. The cocktails were also okay, leaning more on the sweet side. Overall, I would come back specifically for the garlic noodles and crab. Just keep in mind that it is a little pricey, but I think its worth it. I can see how this restaurant became famous.

Service - friendly and efficient Food - great The roast crab and calamari was very flavorful and doesn't make you feel gross from the fried parts. Shaken beef was also very tender and good flavor. Fried banana is a must for dessert! Parking - hard, street only Every time I come here it's always so hard to find parking, so come early if you have a reservation! This is near residential areas so street parking is shared and limited

Their signature dish - roasted crab is one of the best way i've had crab prepared! Even my niece who is not a fan of crab loved this dish! I don't think their other dishes are fresh (e.g. appetizer dishes, or the sea bass entree or shaken beef). I have had some of dishes served lukewarm warm. Service is fast - they don't mess around!! So I would recommend just their signature dishes.

After trying Crustacean, I thought it would be worth a visit to go to Thanh Long! It's a small restaurant so I highly recommend getting reservations. I was really surprised that they also had a bar! The menu was pretty limited and portions are on the smaller side, so we tried almost everything on the menu. I'd say that the only things worth ordering are the crab and the garlic noodles. Everything else was just average. Food was also a bit on the pricier side, but I think getting the crab is worth it!
